When powerhouse founder Liyia Wu—a Parsons graduate and disruptive fashion tech entrepreneur—closed her most recent round of funding, she enlisted The Outset as a trusted creative partner in re-envisioning the next chapter of her brand ShopShops. The creative challenge was to reimagine the future of her progressive and forward thinking brand so that it could continue to disrupt the global digital ecommerce space. With a playful new visual identity, app and website re-design, and an art direction + tone of voice overhaul, this was a dream brief for The Outset team. 

As the first interactive video – shoppable livestream available to everyone all over the world, ShopShops is more than a retail platform. It has organically created a thriving, genuine community that blurs the lines between the virtual world and everyday in-real-life reality.

Outset began the Visual Identity process by establishing a vivid color palette, a bold logo, vibrant type system, and an exciting brand voice. A world of color, evocative design, and kaleidoscopic visuals translated into an immersive Web, App, and Social experience. Designs are inspired by Vignelli’s iconic subway maps, game shows of the 70s, and clean typefaces and grids to balance pops of color and editorial imagery.
